WARM UPS

Taking warm ups is a great opportunity to show all that you have learn't to date.  Projecting your voice, facial expressions, body language.... but most importantly giving clear instructions in a short amount of time.  It is also handy to be able to keep the students engaged.

MIRROR IMAGING

When showing students stand up techniques, you need to mirror image them to enable them to copy you; which means, if you are facing them, to mirror image their left punch, you will be doing a right punch. - "This will be challenging"!

LIGHTHOUSE

SUPERVISION

The safety of all our students is important.  Always, place yourself in a position, around the mat, so you can see all students, especially during wrestling sessions. Like a lighthouse, scan your eyes across all students constantly.

DEMONSTRATE...

EXPLAIN

Getting the message across can be hard, so the need to project your voice using 'SOD'  makes it easier for your students.

Remember; short, clear instructions, along with precise demonstrations, will get your message across.

Adding a touch of humour, can also make it fun learning!

APPEARANCE

Having a clean Gi, hair tidy and nails clipped, is a good start to being in front of your students.

Don't forget to bring your smile
