The aim of MRMA has always been to equip kids with skills to handle an uncertain future. To do this they need to confront difficulty in training and learn to make decisions under pressure. As they develop these critical skills they will inevitably rise to positions of leadership in their school and local community. Our martial arts and leadership program creates that confidence.

A message from the instructor, Sean Allen:

"Before moving to Margaret River, I had been operating a large martial arts school (400 members) for the last 15 years. MRMA is a small martial arts academy with a limit to the number of members enrolled plus 5 scholarships for disadvantaged young people/families. This will give me the opportunity to personally concentrate on a small number of students to teach real life self defence, character development, and to a chosen few, leadership training.

MRMA objectives for students are centred around 3 areas:

1) Character
2) Courage
3) Altruism

1) We develop CHARACTER that enables a young person to focus when surrounded by distraction, to do what is right even when it is difficult and to have the conviction to stand up for something worthwhile.
2) The COURAGE to step forward when injustices occur, even when friendships are at stake
3) We display ALTRUISM by contributing to the wellbeing, both financial and emotional, of those less fortunate. This sets a clear example for our students to follow.·

So as you can see, it is much more than just a martial arts club.

Over time, it is a life changing experience”
